With the novel Not All Bastards Are from Vienna (Sellerio 2010, Grove Press 2015) – translated into English, American, French, German, Spanish, Norwegian, Slovenian, Dutch, Hungarian, Danish, Serbian – in 2011 he won, among others, the Campiello Award and the Comisso Award.

In 1999 he won the Andersen Prize for Lifetime Achievement (Children Literature) and in 2008 the Monselice Prize for Literary Translation.

La primavera del lupo (The wolf’s springtime, Sellerio 2013) is translated into German and French.

Presagio (Omen, Sellerio 2014) is translated into French.

La solitudine dell’assassino (The loneliness of the murderer) was released by Rizzoli on September 15, 2016.

Dove un’ombra sconsolata mi cerca (Where an inconsolable shadow looks for me) is in the process of printing (Sellerio 2019).
